We are celebrating the 135th Anniversary of Chief Payepot signing Treaty 4 with Queen Victoria, represented by the Governor of Saskatchewn, on September 1, 2, and 3, 2010. To celebrate the occassion a three day event is planned.

We are planning a celebration that you would not want to miss! It will be fun and entertaining. A celebration to remember. It will be a celebration of Payepot, a celebration of the Aboriginal people, a celebration of the City of Regina, a celebration of Saskatchewan and a celebration of Canada.

A Celebration of Treaty Four
The highlights of the three day celebration are:
September 1, 2010: Ceremonies at the burial site of Chief Payepot at Piapot, followed by Unveiling of a bronze statue of Chief Payepot at the Payepot School, a feast and a round dance. Read More
September 2, 2010: 11:30 am to 1:30 pm - Unveiling of a Chief Payepot statue in front of the Regina City Hall . The event includes, Pow Wow Dance performance by Oscana Dance Ensemble, Round Dance, and refreshments. Read More

Multi-media Symphony with Pow Wow Dancers
World premier of OSCANA, a multi-media symphony, reflecting the history of Saskatchewan takes place in Conexus Arts Centre, Regina, on September 3, 2010.
OSCANA is specially commissioned work for commemorating the 135th Anniversary of Chief Piapot and other chiefs signing Treaty #4 with Queen Victoria. Regina Symphony Orchestra conducted by the composer Andrew Balfour, Oscana Dance Ensemble providing choreographed Pow Wow dancing on the stage.
